pleasing to the eye. The X-Runner suspension was lowered one inch.
The rear bench seat in the Double Cab is another
story, having been raised by 1.25 inches and given a 23-degree seatback
angle. Toyota engineers devoted a significant amount of attention
to achieving this goal
Also new is Toyota's use of a composite inner bed. suspension
incorporates firmer and shorter springs, specially tuned Bilstein
gas shock absorbers positioned outboard of the frame rails for increased
stability.
Double Cab models feature rear seats that flip forward and fold flat,
as well as underseat storage bins.
All Tacomas feature dual bottle holders in the front doors, while
upper trim level get an overhead console with map lights. With its
big, bold headlights and grill, Tacoma exudes a stronger appearance.
Toyota Accessories, including cargo bed cross bars, a fork-mount bike
rack, and diamond-plate storage boxes.
Access and Double Cab models offer upgraded audio systems including
an AM/FM radio with a CD player, six-disc changer and six speakers.
The new TRD Off-Road Package offers better off-road performance and
better on-road handling than the 2004 Off-Road Package. An overhead
console and amber-lit gauges add an elegant touch. Toyota is trying
to reduce the amount of toxic lead used in its products.
